For Flux mining, the GTX 1660 Super 6GB takes the win here, giving a hashrate of 30 Sol/s, which is double that of the RX 580 8GB. Nonetheless, the GTX 1660 Super 6GB does consume 99 W, which is slightly more than the RX 580 8GB, at 82 W. On the other hand, the RX 580 8GB wins out for Conceal/Ryo and Beam mining, offering hashrates of 1.736 kH/s and 19.10 Sol/s, respectively, while consuming less power than the GTX 1660 Super 6GB.

For Ravencoin and Ergo mining, the hashrates of the two cards are more or less similar at under 62 MH/s. Depending on the overclock or underclock settings, the GTX 1660 Super 6GB may consume less power than the RX 580 8GB without jeopardizing the mining hashrate.

From testing by Red Panda Mining, the GTX 1660 Super 6GB was unable to mine Cortex as there was not enough memory or VRAM, while the RX 580 8GB could not mine Conflux. Hence, if you are focusing on either of these two coins, you may simply ignore the card that cannot mine the coin of your choice.

Another factor to consider when choosing between these two cards is the price. As of the time of writing, the RX 580 8GB goes for around $250 to $300, which is cheaper than the GTX 1660 Super 6GB, which goes for about $300 to $400.
